Interested in volunteering?
The Splendora Fire Department relies solely upon volunteers. These are people from many different walks of life, but they all have one thing in common - they are willing to respond in a moments notice for their community.
Can you do it? YES.
I do not have any experience!!
That's OK. As a volunteer you will be completely trained by Spledora Fire Department Instructors who have years of experience and knowledge under their belts. You will gain the knowledge and experience that you will need to be a firefighter.
Why should I put the time in to volunteer?
Self-satisfaction and the knowledge to help in an emergency. One of the most common reasons for volunteering that firefighters mention is the self-sa-tisfaction they feel by giving back to their community.
The fire service offers you opportunities. As a member you can opt to also become a member of the fire suppression team or become certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Many times the training needed to obtain certifications in either/both areas are paid for by the department.
Firefighters are depended on to respond to calls for emergency help at a moments notice. Be the person who makes a difference in someone's life.
The Splendora Fire Department is looking for new members. Whether you want to be on the front lines delivering fire protection and emergency medical care or providing the support services required to operate a fire department there is a position waiting for you!
We are looking for men and women 18 years of age, in good physical condition, have a valid driver’s license, must be a resident of The Montgomery County ESD #11 jurisdiction, and willing to comply with training/attendance requirements. If you're not quite 18 years of age, we do have a Junior membership program which allows you to participate in trainings, station time, and some calls.
For more information about becoming a volunteer fire fighter contact the station and ask for any officer that can guide you in the application process at 281-689-9600.
Make a difference in your community, volunteer today!!!!!
